Our Impact

We measure our success annually based on:

  • The number of teachers receiving school supplies and resources
  • The number of students impacted through those teachers
  • The number of K-8 schools
  • The number of communities served

Between December 2020 and the spring of 2024, operating out of a storage facility, Mass Teacher Resources supported 18 schools in 13 communities, impacting 1,356 students

Update: 2025 – 2026 School Year

The MTR Free Store was open for fall shopping  August 5 – November 22, 2025.

Teachers were eligible to shop the store twice, once in August/September and once again in October/November.

In total, we booked 687 shopping visits, serving 616 teachers, impacting almost 26,000 students!

The MTR Free Store will open in January 2026 for spring shopping. All eligible teachers are invited to shop.

Teachers who shop at the store receive, on average, 71 items for their classrooms –
basic supplies, bins, boxes and organization,
bulletin board items, curriculum materials,  workbooks and manipulatives,
craft supplies, books and more!

All items at the MTR Free Store are provided by our community, as supply donations or through
financial support that helps cover our operating expenses and provides funds to purchase inventory to meet teacher demand.

With this support
we are saving local teachers
thousands of dollars in personal expense,
diverting tons of usable supplies from local landfills, and improving education for
tens of thousands of students.

Join us to help power our public schools!

The MTR Free Store at 400 West Cummings Park opened for teacher shopping on
September 17, 2024.

Teachers from 70 communities were invited to make an appointment to shop at the MTR Free Store during shopping hours scheduled in the fall of 2024 and spring of 2025.

In our first year of operations, we gifted 234 local teachers classroom supplies with an average value of $210 – money they would have spent from their own pockets to support their students.

In total, classroom supplies with a value of $60,000 were secured by teachers, to benefit more than 6,400 students.

And this is just the beginning!
