Who can shop the MTR Free Store?
The MTR Free Store serves full-time classroom teachers at Public Title 1 Elementary and Middle Schools in 70 communities in Greater Boston.

• We do not serve school counselors, school librarians, intervention teachers, paraprofessionals or substitute teachers
• We do not serve teachers at private or charter schools
• We do not serve teachers at virtual academies

How do I shop the MTR Free Store?

• Teachers must book an appointment to shop

Please note: During the 2025-2026 school year, teachers are invited to shop twice in the fall – once in August/September and once in October/November. Teachers will also be eligible to shop in the spring of 2026; store hours and terms will be announced in January. 

What do I need to bring with me to shop the MTR Free Store?
Teachers should BYOB!

• Teachers will be required to show their current district-issued ID badge to shop the MTR Free Store
  We recommend that you bring your own boxes and bags for shopping.
